Best poker news of the week: GG Poker leaves the grey markets
Hello, gamblers! Over this hot poker week, only PartyPoker was in the focus. I’m very excited to tell you everything about it!
GG Poker leaves the grey markets
To optimize the process of getting a license to work in European countries, the company decided to leave all grey markets. From now on, to obtain a license will be as simple as possible.
Natural8 players were the first to receive the news that the poker room is no longer available in certain regions. However, players have the opportunity to withdraw funds before closing their accounts.
GG Poker is currently leaving 12 markets:
- Czech Republic
I went into details and that’s what I can say. I don't know how they could leave Romania because they were already banned there for 2. They have no access to unlicensed poker platforms, so it is useless, whether they ban the players or not. Well, who knows, they might come back to these countries in the future. We wish them good luck with their expanding plans in Europe and everywhere else.
A double blow to PartyPoker
American pro Dan "Jungleman12" Cates is known as a "veteran" in the poker world. For 10 years, the gambler has shown some excellent achievements in cash games and tournaments, not only in live poker but also online.
On November 24, he won a large sum at PartyPoker. Dan got the prestigious $ 215 buy-in PartyPoker MILLION, as well as The Big Game High Roller Tournament for $ 5,200. Daniel plays in the poker room under the nickname Junglemandan.
PartyPoker hosts the PartyPoker MILLION on a weekly basis. The buy-in of the event is $ 215, and the guarantee is $ 1 million.
On November 24 the event was held with an overlay, as the previous three games. 664 players got into the prizes; seven out of eight finalists received five-digit payouts at the end of the competition. By the end of the game, Cates took first place and received $ 153,000 for it.
These tournaments are pretty popular among famous poker players and Daniel’s name will remain in a poker history. Congrats!
WPN has found a new way to deal with poker bots
Phil Nagy, CEO of WPN (Winning Poker Network), said their security staff finally found a way to help them identify work of poker bots.
“Our security teams discovered that both commercial and private bots process the information at a poker table (what cards they have, what position the bot is in etc.) by reading the graphical pixels.”
In this regard, the WPN security service has developed new tools to prevent the usage of bots.
A constantly changing font makes it impossible for bots to interpret pixels and make decisions. There have also been reports regarding bots in the WPN network's poker rooms. For this reason, WPN introduced four visual upgrades that compelled fraudulent players to reconfigure prohibited bot accounts.
WPN Security started tracking account activity after the graphic updates. Players, who reduced the volume of the game, were blocked for further investigation. 46 bots were exposed and WPN seized from the accounts that seized $450,000. The funds have been dispersed among the players affected.
Thus, there were revealed 46 bots and $ 450,000 were confiscated. The funds were shared among the affected players
Those are very good news. I wish them to continue these successes and catch more of those cheaters. A unite front to fight bot creators and users is needed more than ever before.
PokerStars Holds Pennsylvania Online Poker Championship
The state of Pennsylvania has finally allowed PokerStars to provide online gambling services in the region. Thus, on November 6, the company launched the PokerStars PA client after a two-day test run.
To celebrate this event, PokerStars and Fox Bet will host the Pennsylvania Online Poker Championship - PACOOP.
“The Championship of Online Poker, or COOP, is one of our most prestigious events and we’re proud to give Pennsylvania its own,” said Matt Primeaux, President, FOX Bet. “Players in PA have already shown their excitement for PokerStars so we took things to the next level with a $1 million series guarantee and plenty of ways to get in on the action.”
As a part of the series, there will be 50 tournaments with different buy-ins: from $ 30 to $ 750. The game will mainly be held in the format of no-limit hold'em, and the general guarantee is set at around $ 1,000,000. This poker festival kicks off on November 30th and runs until December 16th.
The Main Event of the championship will be held on December 15 with a buy-in of $ 300 and a guarantee of $ 100,000. The full series schedule can be found on the official PokerStars website.
Well, I'm not surprised because Pennsylvania residents have a lot of interest to poker, and many of them spend their free time in nearby New Jersey, where online poker is allowed. They are attracted to a large gambling center in Atlantic City. These are awesome news!
Run It Once Poker Launches Legends Optional Rakeback System
Run It Once Poker released a second rakeback system- Legends. It will work in parallel with the old Splash The Pot version.
Phil Galfond said that such actions were taken based on players’ feedback.
How the Legends system works
The new Legends reward system enables players to receive up to 45% rakeback every week, and the principle of rakeback is familiar to many poker players: when you reach a certain level, you get the appropriate rakeback.
Legends consist of five levels:
For every € 0 05 rake, you get 1 point. Cache players are awarded points with a multiplier of x1.5 in 3-max, and x2 in heads-up games. If a user achieves Legend status for four consecutive weeks, he/she will receive additional rewards.
I’m sure that gamblers from all over the world are excited to use this update. Splash The Pot is an innovative reward system for players for sure. This is a very interesting system. Let’s see how it will work.

Coral Poker merge with PartyPoker at the beginning of December
Two years ago, there was news that GVC Holdings (PartyPoker) were buying Ladbrokes Coral (Coral Poker).
Just recently, it is known about another step towards the merger of the rooms. Coral Poker players began to receive messages like:
At the beginning of the 2000s, Coral Poker originally worked on the PartyPoker network, so we can understand their move under of GVC Holdings as "returning to their hometown."
Obviously, the merge of these rooms will significantly strengthen the PartyPoker position in the UK market and increase the number of players in this room.
Those are all news for now! Onlinecasinopolice reminds you one more time: play on trusted and accredited casinos only. Do not fall into tilt! Do not kill other people! And everything will be fine!
